I can do hard things. Even hosting a retreat six months pregnant, with a toddler in tow. But just because I can do it all, doesn’t mean I have to.
Next year, I’m choosing to pause. To be more present as a mama, a wife, and a woman. To give my family more of me, and myself the space to rest, refill my cup, and return with fresh energy and inspiration. Because it’s okay to slow down. It’s okay to take a pause.
I’ve learned to lean on my team, to trust them, to ask for help, and to nurture their growth along the way. Building something meaningful was never meant to be a one-woman show.
I’ve learned that everything I do, I do with purpose. From the food on the table to the flowers in a corner, every little detail carries intention. And when someone notices, appreciates, or feels something because of it, I’m reminded why it matters.

Because beauty isn’t something everyone gets to experience in their everyday lives. And perhaps my role is to bring a little more of it into the world. In every corner, every encounter, every shared meal, every moment of stillness.
The spaces I create are more than just retreats. They are invitations to pause, to look inward, to ask ourselves what’s missing, what needs tending to, and what we’re ready to let go of.
Everyone has their own healing journey. There’s no finish line, no one-size-fits-all answer. What matters is that we keep showing up for ourselves, and have the courage to begin somewhere.
I’ve learned that acts of loving kindness are never wasted. They are seen, felt, and carried forward in ways we may never know. So spread them widely, and do it with joy.

And finally, sharing my yoga practice, everything I’ve learned along the way, and the things that have helped me grow has reminded me that sometimes the most meaningful thing we can do is simply inspire someone else to move — to breathe, to feel, to begin again.
Ten retreats in, I realise this was never just about yoga. It’s about creating spaces where people feel cared for, inspired, and a little more connected to themselves and one another.
And perhaps the next chapter isn’t about doing more, but about learning to be more present for the things that matter most.
Here’s to growing, giving, receiving, and knowing when it’s time to rest. 🌿
With love, always, May x
